This policy explains what we keep about you when you use SketchReel (the app on the web, the Mac app and sketchreel.ai), why, who processes it for us, and what you can do about it. “We” are the company named in our terms, which decides how what we keep is used. We keep as little as we can, and we do not sell it.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address (if you sign in with Google, Google tells us it, and that it has checked it: nothing else from your Google account), when you agreed to the terms, and the minutes you buy and use.
- Payments: Dodo Payments handles them, as the merchant of record, and collects what a purchase needs (your payment details, and your country and billing address for tax). We keep what you bought and its payment's reference, never your card number.
- What you make: on the web, the words, documents, links and pictures you give SketchReel, and the videos it makes, are kept in your own workspace. In the Mac app they stay on your Mac.
- What you use: a record of each video made (its length and the minutes it used), so you can see your usage and we can bill correctly.
- Technical records: your IP address and the app you sign in with, used for sign-in limits and to keep SketchReel safe, and logs of errors.
sketchreel.ai itself sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The web app uses one cookie, to keep you signed in.
Why we use it
To run SketchReel for you: to sign you in, make your videos, bill you, help you when you ask, and keep the service safe from abuse. We rely on our contract with you, on our legitimate interest in keeping SketchReel secure, and on legal obligations (keeping billing records). We do not use what you give SketchReel to train AI models, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
To make a film, what you give SketchReel is sent to the services below, each for its part and under its own commitments not to use it for anything else.

Your data is stored in Google Cloud in the United States. Where it moves from your country to another, we rely on the safeguards the law provides for it, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Your account and what you make: until you delete your account.
- Sign-in codes: ten minutes. A sign-in ends after 30 days without use, and after 180 days in any case.
- Answers kept to complete a request: two days. Records of payment events: 90 days.
- When you delete your account, we delete it and everything we keep for it, except one thing: a one-way fingerprint of your email address, kept so a deleted account cannot be used to claim a free start again, which cannot be turned back into the address. Dodo Payments keeps the records of your payments as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change what you make in SketchReel at any time, and delete your account and everything kept for it in Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your data protection authority. To use them, write to support@sketchreel.ai; we answer within 30 days.
Children
SketchReel is for people 18 and older, and we do not knowingly keep data about children.
Changes
We will publish changes here, with a new version, and ask you to agree to the next version of the terms when they change.
